A student stands next to a truck featuring her artwork and name, showcasing a project about gratitude.

We are so proud of Brooke S. in 7th grade! Her artwork was selected to be featured on a City of Longmont compost and recycling truck. You may even spot it around the Altona neighborhood as Steven drives the route every other week, so keep an eye out!

This project focused on raising awareness about the importance of protecting our watershed, an especially meaningful message given Colorado’s dry climate. Brooke’s work is a beautiful reminder of how we can all take part in caring for our environment. Amazing job, Brooke!

End-of-Year 8th Grade Celebration

Dear Altona 8th grade families,

We are excited to announce that the 8th grade celebration this year will be on Wednesday May 20th from 4:15 6:00 pm.  The theme is beach party! There will be face painting, inflated sports games in the 2 gyms, and a tropical themed selfie station to capture all of the friends and memories your student has made here at Altona!  A cookout will be prepared and served by the Altona staff for a memorable High School send-off. Finally, we will have a raffle that includes gift cards to local retailers, sports balls, popular toys, card games, and snacks.  All the things to get the summer started!

We are requesting a voluntary donation of $20.00 per student, which you can pay through Revtrak or drop off at the front office, to support the party. If you want to help support other 8th graders, you can donate more than the suggested amount. However, all donations are 100% optional, and all students will participate in the celebration regardless of whether a donation is made. Donations will be accepted through May 20th. Make your donation on RevTrak using this link.

A waiver is required by May 19th for every student that will attend the end of year party. Please click on the button below to sign the waiver,If you have any questions about the 8th grade celebration or are interested in helping, please contact Christina Gold, a member of our Parent Leadership Team, at goldchristina@gmail.com. The sign-up to volunteer your time or donate raffle items is located here.  Thank you in advance for your help and support!

We truly appreciate the support of our Altona families and look forward to celebrating your students’ transition from middle school to high school!
