🌟 Staffing Updates 🌟

We are excited to welcome Aleisha Kraft as our new Counselor for students with last names L–Z! Aleisha recently moved to Longmont with her family and brings with her 13 years of experience as a middle school counselor in Florida. We are thrilled to have her join our team and know she will be a wonderful resource for our students and families.

We are also happy to share that Robin Stephens is stepping into the role of Registrar, replacing Briana Lopez. Robin has already been such an important part of our community as our Health Clerk, and we’re excited to see her continue supporting families in this new capacity.

Finally, we want to send our very best wishes to Briana Lopez as she embarks on a new chapter as a stay-at-home mom to her two young children. We are so grateful for all she has contributed to our school, and we wish her the very best on this exciting journey! 💙

Leadership St. Vrain Now Accepting Applications for the 25-26 School Year

Parents and Guardians,

Please join us in learning about the amazing opportunities in St. Vrain! Leadership St. Vrain is a program designed to provide parents and other community members the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of our district’s mission, operations and strategic priorities. The program is especially beneficial for those who want to obtain a foundation in district operations and governance and become more active participants in St. Vrain Valley Schools.

Gifted & Talented Referrals

Image features two educators from Altona Middle School's Gifted and Talented program, with contact info and program details.

Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic and/or talent areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s), and they require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress.  In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.

Referrals are open through the month of September and will close on the last day of the month. Referrals after that date will be addressed on a case by case basis. Completing a referral guarantees a review of the student profile to determine if testing is recommended for the student. The process for identification requires a body of evidence and often takes place throughout the school year.

The process takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

Got Clubs?

The engineering classes at Altona need golf putters!  We are designing a mini golf course in class and we will need around 30 putters so other kids can play our course.  We are only looking for ones that are old and families are willing to donate. Thank you!
