Safety Corner/ Early Release & Pickup Procedure
For the safety of our students, please remember to bring your ID/License to the door when coming to our school. You will be asked each time to show your identification before entering the building.
Please call the school ahead of time (at least 1hr notice), if you will be picking up your student early. We will get your student an early release pass and have them waiting in the office for you.
Course & Student Fees: Semester 2
Fees for Semester 2 have been loaded into Infinite Campus. You can pay for fees by clicking the button below, or with cash or check at the front office.
Celebration of Excellence
The St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation is thrilled to announce that the Celebration of Excellence (formerly Tribute to Teachers) nomination form opens on January 13th! This cherished annual event honors outstanding educators from every St. Vrain school who exemplify excellence in their roles and make extraordinary contributions to student success.
We invite students, parents, volunteers, fellow educators, school staff, community members, and business partners to nominate exceptional educators who inspire, innovate, and shape the future. In order to qualify, nominees must be licensed educators in the State of Colorado and employed at a St. Vrain Valley Schools campus for the current school year. Educators who received their school’s Educator of the Year honor within the past two years are not eligible.
Based on your nominations, one educator from each St. Vrain Valley school will be selected as their school’s Educator of the Year. These honorees will be recognized during the Celebration of Excellence on April 11, 2025, where a district-wide Educator of the Year will also be announced.
Nominations are open January 13 through February 5. Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize the educators who make a lasting impact in our schools and community!

Living With Dyslexia Workshop
This event is designed for our Silver Creek feeder to continue to foster community, education and action around dyslexia. Parents and students who attend should expect to have some tangible takeaways in their understanding of dyslexia and walk away with next steps in the areas of assistive technology, self advocacy, or transition to middle/high school.

Robotics Club:

The Code Zone Challenge
On behalf of the SVVSD Innovation Center, the Cyber Tech Team invites Altona Middle School to the 5th annual Python coding competition, The CodeZone Challenge. This event will take place at the SVVSD Innovation Center on Saturday, May 10th, 2025 from 1pm – 4pm. Please complete this form to let Mrs. Basile know your interest. The CodeZone Challenge is split into two divisions: a Novice Division for new Python coders and an Advanced Division for more experienced students. Students will compete in teams of 2-4 students from the same school. During the competition, each team will have about 25 problems to solve through Python programs. Spring Drama Opportunity: The Brother’s Grimm Spectaculathon
We are partnering with the Silver Creek Thespian Group, an International Honor Society at the high school, to create a one-act play, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, for Spring 2025. This group led by Tracy Knick, Silver Creek’s Theatre Director, is working on a plan for Altona students to have a production this spring at Silver Creek. All auditions and performances will be held at Silver Creek High School with a workshop and family meeting on February 12. Auditions to occur on February 21, with rehearsals throughout March and April and performances on April 24 and 25. Additionally, cast members will be invited to the Silver Creek performance of Mean Girls on March 6th.
