SRO Says

Hello parents and family members,

I have investigated a few incidents of student’s bicycles and scooters being stolen and have identified a pattern with each situation. I recommend all bicycles and scooters, or any other means of transportation, be locked up and secured during the school day and taken home at the end of the day. When the school is closed and no staff are present, people can still access the property and there is no guarantee items will remain secure on the property. It is difficult to investigate cold theft cases and oftentimes stolen items are not recovered. If you have any questions for me, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Officer J. Parent

The Book Fair is coming – Sept 30 – Oct 7

The Scholastic Book Fair will be here Sept 30 – Oct 7. All students will have the chance to visit with their Language Arts classes, during LEAD and after school. The Book Fair will also be open until 8:30 pm during the 9/30 and 10/7 conference nights so parents can shop, too!! If you’d like to shop online or see a preview of what will be available, visit our book fair online.

*You can even pre-order the brand new Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dog Man books online or at the fair!*

Consider setting up an e-wallet account online which eliminates the need to send cash to school with your kids!

If you would like to help with the fair, we are still in need of lots of volunteers!

Picture Retakes are Coming!

Thursday, October 16th

Two types of students will come to Retake Day

*Students Who Were Absent:  These students were absent for the original picture day. They will need to have their picture taken in order to appear in the yearbook. They may use their original order envelope or pick up another from the school office.

*Students Who Want a Retake:   These students are not satisfied with their original pictures. Have them bring their entire picture package to the photographer. The photographer will retake the picture and we will reorder the package that was originally ordered.

Art Club: Update

**No Art Club meeting Tuesday, October 7th, for Parent Teacher Conferences!**

We had a wonderful turnout for our first Art Club meeting! Students made shrinky dink keychains and we had so much fun.  Due to a large population wanting to join the Art Club (especially 6th) we are going to have to start doing rotations. We will have some specific 7th and 8th grade designated days and some spots for 6th grade one those days.  Once the sign up sheets are full that means students will have to try to sign up for a different session. Below is a breakdown of the rotation schedule and the sign up link:

  • Sign Up Link for 6th Graders
  • Oct 14: 7th/8th Day & 6th grade sign up
