Each year schools in the St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students in grades K-12 who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic areas and may therefore quality for Gifted/Talented educational services.

Altona is hosting our Back to School Night on Wednesay, August 30th from 5:50 - 7:30 pm. New parents to Altona, and all 6th grade parents, are encouraged to attend our "parent bootcamp" presentations by our amazing 6th grade staff team, which will run from 5:15-5:45 pm. They will be outlining how to use/access Schoology, Infinite Campus and navigating the new realm of middle school. We hope you'll be able to join us for a fun night, but in case you are unable to attend, we have added some links below that will give you some of the highlights from the night.
On August 21, students across St. Vrain Valley Schools experienced the 'Great American Eclipse' through district-provided safety viewing glasses, indoor live-streaming and immersive classroom activities.
The start of a new academic year is one of my favorite times to visit our schools and talk with our students, families, teachers and staff. Our hallways are filled with a palpable optimism and drive to continue our momentum toward the highest levels of academic growth and success.
