High Winds/Fire Update - February 10

Dear Parent and Guardians

Thank you for your continued partnership in making St. Vrain Valley Schools such an exceptional community for our students to thrive.

This message is a follow-up to this morning’s transportation delays due to the power outages and grass fires that occurred west of Longmont. St. Vrain bus routes will operate on a normal schedule this afternoon. 

St. Vrain would like to commend our students and staff for following all safety protocols. We would also like to thank the local emergency responders for their quick response.

Altona CyberPatriots Team Takes 1st Place!

Altona's CyberPatriot teams wrapped up a successful season on Saturday as seven team

Winter 2017 Parent/Teacher Conferences

Below is the link to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences on February 13th and 15th, 2017.  Conferences will be 4:00 - 8:30 pm on both nights and teachers will have a dinner break from 6:00 - 6:30 on both nights.  If you are unable to schedule a conference with a teacher because their schedule is full, please reach out to them directly if necessary.  

Altona students advance in CyberPatriots competition

Results for ten Altona Middle School CyberPatriot teams from the January 13 state round of CyberPatriot IX, the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, were announced late last week.

Learning and competing in cybersecurity for the first time, the Altona students have continued their spectacular performance in this third round, with seven teams advancing to the semi-final, or regional round, on February 4.

Delayed Start Today, February 2, Due to Inclement Weather

Due to deteriorating road conditions, the district is implementing a delayed start for TODAY, February 2. A delayed start means that schools and busses will begin 2.5 hours later than regularly scheduled start times. School days delayed due to inclement weather also require the following service adjustments:

Preschool:

  • Morning: Will be canceled
  • Afternoon: Will follow normal schedules
