What is the first sport offered to students?

Our first fall sport is girls volleyball, and practices begin on Monday, August 21st.  Signups are happening now and can be done by bringing in your registration paperwork and payment to the office.

 

When is the first day of school?

Tuesday, August 15th is a 6th grade only day. 

Wednesday, August 16th all grades will begin with the regular daily schedule.

 

What is the daily schedule?

Students can enter the school at 8:10 and the first bell is at 8:20.  First period begins at 8:25 and the end of the day is 3:40. A printable copy of the schedule can be found here.

 

What do I need for school?

School supply lists can be found here.

6th grade will begin on Tuesday, August 15th. 6th grade students will only need to bring a lunch or money to purchase hot lunch. If you would like to add money to your child’s lunch account click here. Please leave all school supplies at home until the second day of school.

All students will begin regular classes on Wednesday, August 16th. Please bring your supplies on Wednesday.

 

When is picture day?

Picture day will be on August 24th. More details will be sent out shortly.

 

When is Back to School Night?

Back to School Night is on Wednesday, August 30th from 6 – 7:15pm.  More details will be sent out shortly.

 

How do I update my information on Infinite Campus? If you’d like to update/change your address, please provide a copy of a current utility bill.  If you’d like to update your email and/or phone numbers, please email Laurie Carter ([email protected]) with your name and any changes to be made.  How can I pay my student’s fee’s? Click here for a detailed outline about student fees.  You make make a check out to “Altona Middle School” for all of your student’s fees, or you can pay electronically using a credit card on RevTrak.  

 

Solar Eclipse – Monday, August 21

On Monday, August 21 there will be an almost total solar eclipse (93%) and we will be taking students outdoors for this historic event. All students will be receiving NASA approved glasses to witness this event. Please sign the district permission slip if you would like your student to participate.

Students must have permission to view the eclipse outdoors. You can provide permission one of two ways:

  1. Sign your permission form online by logging into Infinite Campus.
  2. Download this form, sign and return it to your student’s school before Monday, August 21.
