AMS Math Information

Current Altona students recently brought home their math recommendations for next year, along with a packet of information as to how and why students are being recommended for their math courses for next year.  The math department here at AMS wanted to make sure that all parents were aware of the options for math courses for next year (for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students) and ensure that parents had access to the guides for what students need to be able to do at each grade level, as outlined in the Colorado Model Content Standards for Mathematics.

Students are given MobyMax assessments to determine their recommended course for next year (based on their scores as highlighted on the flowchart with an asterick*), along with Algebra readiness and/or Algebra proficency examinations.  If you have any questions about your child’s recommendation for next year, please email their math teacher or the math department chair Lauren Rider ([email protected]).  Thanks!
