The continued safety, well-being, and success of our students, teachers, staff, and community has always been our top priority as we navigate the complex and evolving coronavirus crisis. To that end, our comprehensive task force has outlined a school reopening plan that includes a return to full-time in-person instruction for students in grades PK-5, 6, and 9, and an alternating schedule with a combination of in-person and synchronous real-time online learning for students in grades 7-8 and 10-12.

A drive-through Community Resource Center will be open from 12:00 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Wednesdays throughout the months of June and July. Ms. Rodriguez is excited to shine a spotlight on 8th grader Taylor Even! Taylor has participated in the peer to peer program all three years she has been at Altona. She is also the chapter president for the Best Buddies program. She is an amazing student that takes the extra time to connect with her peers with disabilities. Ms. Jones nominated her Yearbook class as this month's Student Spotlight! They are a small, but mighty group of dedicated and hard-working students. The Yearbook Staff is responsible for the entire creation of the Altona Yearbook—from photography to design to interviews. They also run the marketing campaigns for selling the yearbook and already produced a video advertisement, posters, email campaigns, morning announcements and much more. 8th grader Tilley Roos is a three-year veteran of the Altona Tech Squad, and for that reason Mrs. Pulley is pleased to take this opportunity to shine a spotlight on her. Tilley has always been a very mature, dependable and member of the library staff. Tilley also just completed an excellent volleyball season, and enjoys time with her family and her dogs after school.
