Altona on top in SVVSD again!

The Altona students, teachers and staff are once again top performers in SVVSD and in the state of Colorado!  Altona received both the John Irwin Award for academic achievement and the Colorado Governor's Distigunished Improvement Award.  This marks the 5th year in a row that Altona has received both of these prestegious awards!  Please see the full article here at: http://svvsd.org/updates/st-vrain-schools-continue-perform

Hygiene help!

This year during the month of January, Altona NJHS will be doing a personal hygiene item collection for young people at the Tennyson Center for Children in Denver.  This center is a nonprofit organization that provides treatment and education for children who have been abused or neglected.  These children often come to the center with nothing but the clothes they are wearing, so we are hoping to help!  For more info, please visit  www.childabuse.org.

Altona's canned food drive is a huge success!

Altona's community of support (students and parents) really came together and were able to collect over 9,500 cans and non-perishable food items for the Community Food Share, during our week long canned food drive.  In addition, they collected over $3,200 worth of donations!  This is an awesome example of just how generous and thoughtful our community really is...way to go Rattlers!!  Below is a picture of Mr. Mehlsing handing over the donations to Jim Baldwin at the Community Food Share:
